Q: Is it possible to have two different products delivered on the same truck?
A: Unfortunately there is not a way to separate two products on the same truck, however we offer competitive delivery rates to all customers.
Q: What is the benefit of utilizing dyed mulches?
A: The dyed mulch will hold its color and help you maintain that freshly mulched look across your landscape.
Q: Will dyed mulches be affected by rain storms or my irrigation system?
A: All dyed mulches require 24-48 hours of drying time after they have been installed. Failure to follow this recommendation may adversely impact the appearance of your landscape.
Q: How much does a cubic yard of mulch weigh?
A: Mulch averages about 1,000 pounds per cubic yard depending on moisture content.
Q: How much does a cubic yard of soil weigh?
A: Soil weights about 2,200 pounds per cubic yard depending on moisture content.
Q: What is the difference between #57 stone and ABC stone?
A: #57 stone is crushed stone ranging in size from 1/2-1”. ABC Stone is also known as Crush and Run and is a dense grade aggregate mixture consisting of 3/4” rocks mixed with smaller stones and particles.
Q: What are the different sizes of flagstone used for?
A: We offer three sizes of flagstone: Slab, XL Slab, and Veneer. XL Slabs are mostly used for large patios and walkways, Regular Slabs are used in walkways and mortared patios, and Veneer are used for covering walls, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and other stone features.
Q: What are the different sizes of river rock used for?
A: Pea Gravel is used in walkways and patios. 2”-4” and 3”-5” are great for bed spaces, whether filling beds to replace more common ground cover such as mulch or pine needles or bedsaround pools to create a buffer to grass clippings and other debris. 4”-7” and 7”-14” are perfect for dry creek beds and waterfalls.
Q: What should I consider when purchasing boulders?
A: Boulders are great as boulder walls and decorative rock features. They come in a variety of sizes from 2 man stones up to 1,000 lb stones. Boulders are sold in 1-ton pallets. We suggest you visit us in person when purchasing boulders as they vary from one boulder to the next.
Q: What do you use #89 stone for?
A: #89 stone is used in paver patio installations. It is applied at a depth of 1” on top of a 6-8” base layer of #57 stone. At this point you are ready to install your stone selection.
Q: Do you sell topsoil?
A: Our screened topsoil is produced on site with 90% recycled organic material. It is a great option for a base when laying sod and is perfect for use in all planting locations.
Q: Where does Piedmont get the mulch that is sells?
A: Our mulch, apart from Playground and Mini Pine Nuggets, is produced on-site at our location in Concord, NC. We source our raw materials from local companies and our crews grind and dye the finished material to specifications, expected by our customers.

Delivery

Piedmont Landscape Materials is committed to delivering our products in a safe and efficient manner, and because this is our priority we ask that you to take a few steps when you are carefully choosing your drop location:
  • Check to ensure there is adequate clearance to drop your materials in the location of your choice to protect your property from damage
  • Be cognizant of accessibility, driveway conditions, ground moisture, and any other impediments to ensure protection of your property
  • We ask that a homeowner, or an adult designee, be present for all deliveries made to a residential address.
PLM reserves the right to refuse delivery if any of these conditions pose a risk, and will not be responsible for any property damage that occurs if our delivery trucks leave the hard surface road to reach your drop location. We offer delivery to a wide range of areas with rates starting as low as $50.

Delivery Policy

Piedmont Landscape Materials is committed to delivering our bulk material orders in a safe and effective manner. Our delivery trucks will need adequate clearance and conditions in order to protect your property from damage. Our drivers will assess your designated dump location for accessibility, driveway conditions, ground moisture and irrigation equipment and have been instructed to contact our office if unloading has the potential to damage either your property or our vehicles. 

Piedmont reserves the right to refuse delivery if any of these conditions pose a risk of property damage. We place a priority on everyone’s safety. Homeowners, or an adult designee should be present for all deliveries made to a residential address.

*Dyed Mulch Disclaimer

If dyed mulches are installed just before rain, the dye will be affected. Please keep an eye on the forecast before ordering your dyed mulch. You should allow 24-48 hours of drying time when installing dyed mulches  This advisory does not include undyed hardwood, pine bark nuggets or playground mulches.
